The sling bags and totes from our Borneo collection are handwoven by the indigenous Dayak people of Borneo using split rattan from Central Kalimantan, one of the few places in the world where rattan is harvested sustainably to preserve the forest. Our artisan partners use centuries-old weaving techniques, premium leather and batik-printed linings from Java to create these unique bags for style-conscious, socially conscious women. A renewed interest in Dayak weaving provides a sustainable livelihood for these artisans while reviving centuries-old weaving traditions.
