Midori Kimagure Letter Pad & Envelopes
For letters that deserve better than a text message.
Kimagure means “on a whim,” which is a pretty good reason to write a letter. This lovely little Japanese stationery set has the kind of quiet charm I look for at IP the Edit: beautiful paper, thoughtful details, and just enough personality to make you want to actually use it.
And the animals are so sweet. Simple, sketch-like polar bears, pandas, cats, and friends wander across the pages in that understated Japanese way that somehow makes you smile without being the least bit sugary.
The pages are unlined, leaving plenty of room for your own thoughts, drawings, lists, or whatever else ends up on the page.
And yes, there’s a lined guide sheet tucked in the package. Because apparently even spontaneous letter writing benefits from a little supervision.
Why I like it:
- Really good paper: Smooth Japanese paper that feels wonderful under a pen and plays nicely with fountain pens and gel ink.
- Unlined, but not unruly: Use the guide sheet underneath when you want your writing to behave itself.
- Sweet little envelopes: The matching envelopes have tiny animal details that give your letter a lovely little hello before it’s even opened.
- Made in Japan: Thoughtfully designed and beautifully made, which is pretty much why it landed here.
